[MANUAL: name, address, email of the controller]
Privacy contact: privacy@basketeers.app
2. Data we process
- Account: a random user ID (anonymous sign-in via Firebase Authentication). If you link your Google account, also the account ID and email address provided by Google.
- Profile: your display name and an optional profile picture, visible to the members of your household.
- Content: households, lists, items (name, quantity, brand, note, store, category), item photos, shopping status ("I'm shopping") and the input history used for suggestions.
- Device identifiers: Firebase installation ID and push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you notifications.
- App integrity: Firebase App Check (Google Play Integrity) verifies that requests come from the genuine app.
- Crash and error reports: Firebase Crashlytics (device model and manufacturer, OS, language, screen size, app version, crash/error data) plus your user ID and the Firebase installation ID, so we can relate errors to an account and fix them.
We show no ads, build no advertising profiles and never sell data.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process data to provide the app (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): shared lists, sync, notifications and account management. App Check and crash reports serve our legitimate interest in a secure and stable app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Where data is stored
- Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd.): lists and profiles in Cloud Firestore in the EU (eur3), Cloud Functions in Frankfurt (europe-west3). Google may transfer data to third countries as part of Firebase services, based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
- Photos and profile pictures: on our own web space at STRATO AG in Germany. Images are downscaled on your device before upload; metadata (e.g. GPS location) is removed.
About image links: images are served via random, unguessable links. Anyone who knows the exact link can view the image – but links are only shared with the members of your household. Uploading always requires sign-in and household membership.
5. Retention
- Checked-off items (including photos) are deleted automatically 24 hours after checking.
- Shopping status ends after 2 hours at the latest.
- Profile, household and lists are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Crashlytics data is deleted after 90 days.
6. Deleting your account
Delete your account any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. Details: basketeers.app/delete-account.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
